I used to hang here a lot as a kid when the Sizemore family would haul me down to 'Nofre'. The first board I ever rode, just to the South of the Shack area, was shaped by Ted Sizemore for his wife, Charlotte. It now resides at the Surfing Heritage Museum in San Clemente. I got to see it again, touch it, remember the ringing slap of water on its solid balsa hull as I paddled it, waiting for some white water to ride; I got my picture taken next to it, May 27, 2011, after 56 years.
